Mission
Soulflags Mission
Our mission is to promote artistic expression and entrepreneurship through our community workspace. Enriching art opportunities for students, families and staff. Soulflags is diligent in organizing and hosting many community centered events and activities throughout the year.
ART- LITERACY
Art and happiness of the soul go hand in hand. We found this out ourselves firsthand when the two organizers of Soulflags met to teach in 2012 and eventually lead the Art Literacy program from 2014-2019 at a local elementary school in Oregon City. After volunteering for many years, organizing special events like Math, Art, Science and Health (MASH) Night, overseeing special Artist-In-Residence projects at the school, creating special art pieces and just plain loving to work with young aspiring artists – the organizers have decided to start their own venture of creating a non-profit so all kids are able to begin and continue their exposure to art styles and art media. Especially during this COVID-19 time, we believe giving students the opportunity – be it socially distanced and wearing masks within the classroom or virtually, students and families should have the chance and ability to express their artistic self.

PART OF YOUr village
Soulflags has been a member of the Oregon City community since 2019 with a physical location opening in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our Community Center is open to the public. Living and raising our children in Oregon City, our founders love this community and want to be involved and supportive. Our dream is to have this Community Center be used by everyone – participating in our art literacy program, practicing yoga, accessing books at our community library, food from our community pantry or renting our art space – we want and need your support. We are calling on the help of the local community to help us create this new experience for our community. We are seeking donations to be used in raffles and auctions to fund us throughout the year.
SUPPORT YOUNG ARTISTS
Every child’s art begins with a dot or brushstroke and can be created into anything. Please consider joining our key group of art loving supporters. With so many children going without access to art and basic supplies, we are in need of your support to reach as many young artists as possible, and to give them a vibrant palette for self-expression.
A Word
From Our Founders
” We always loved art and working with youth, teaching them the history and art styles of the artists past and current. We have never been more excited to announce that our program will be available for the Portland Metropolitan area community and schools with the opening of Soulflags. “
